Zone 2 Championship-Gallagher’s Canyon, June 5 & 6, 2021
Tierra Elchuk from the Okanagan Golf Club- Zone 2 Jr. Girls Low Gross Champion.
Tierra started hitting golf balls at five and played her first golf game at age six. She participated in her first golf tournament at seven. That same year, she qualified to play in the IMG World Golf Championship in San Diego, the FCG World Championship in Palm Springs and the US Kids Golf World Championship in Pinehurst. Again, she qualified at ages eight and nine. Her best finish was a tie for second place at the 2018 FCG World Championship in Palm Springs.
Tierra placed first in her age group at the Drive Chip and Putt competition, only losing in the Pacific Northwest Final.
Tierra has two ‘hole in ones’. First was on hole #4 at the Okanagan Bear course in October 2020, while her second was on hole #12 at Tower Ranch in June, 2021.
Tierra’s instructor is Clay Stothers from the Okanagan Golf Academy.
In her leisure time, Tierra enjoys figure skating, biking and roller skating. As a member of the Big White Ski Club, she has competed in several racing events.
Brooke started golfing at age eight. She’s golfed for six years. Her Grow Through Golf membership allows her to golf five courses in Kelowna. These courses include Gallagher’s Canyon, The Harvest, Tower Ranch, Black Mountain and The Okanagan Golf Club.
Brooke’s coach and instructor is Ethan Danish at Gallagher’s Canyon Golf Club.
Brooke won the Junior Ladies Club Championship at Canyon Meadows GCC in Calgary, when she was eleven years old. Other hobbies for Brooke include both indoor and beach volleyball and playing the piano.
Tierra Elchuk, from the Okanagan Golf Club and Brooke Tombs, from the Harvest Golf Club represented Zone 2 Jr Girls. For both girls, this was their first Provincial golf tournament.
